The Barbara Morgan Harvey Collectionincludes a variety of books that document the history of the region, newspaper clippings from the early 1900s, minutes from the meetings of early oil companies from the late 1800s, maps, and photographs. The collection serves as a center and clearinghouse for scholarship and research of the Oil Region’s history and heritage. An important part of the collection is videotaped oral histories of residents of the area reminiscing and telling stories about the region.

Community History Daysis an annual celebration that brings local history to life for two days each year on the first weekend in June. It features folk music, barbecues, displays, demonstrations, carriage rides, storytelling, and presentations about the region’s rich history and cultural heritage. People from the region and beyond are invited to participate in activities that promise fun for the whole family.

The Barbara Morgan Harvey Annual Lecture, held in the fall, explores historical, geological, social, business, and other aspects of the region’s growth and development. Pre-lecture activities include interactive programs that engage students from elementary school through college.
